See Poundbury Through Fresh Eyes: A New Walking Guide Just Launched!

How well do you really know Poundbury? You might walk past the pink Gothic house on Middle Farm Way, under the arch at Royal Pavilion, through Crown Square and across the Great Field, and still not know half the stories hiding in plain sight.

A brand new free self-guided walking leaflet, launched to coincide with the official birthday of HM King Charles III, is about to change that.

Produced by the Dorchester Tourism Partnership and led by Dorchester Town Council, A Walk Through Poundbury: Architecture & Design is a beautifully designed guide to the urban development that has put this corner of Dorset on the map. The route takes around 1.5 hours, covers 38 points of interest, and is fully wheelchair friendly. Whether you’ve lived here for thirty years or thirty days, it will certainly show you something you didn’t know.

How to get the guide

The digital leaflet is free to download now at Poundbury – Architecture and Design – Discover Dorchester, and printed copies are available at the Tourist Information Points at Dorchester Corn Exchange and Shire Hall Museum, as well as at participating outlets across Poundbury.

Start point: St John Way, Poundbury, DT1 2FG. Duration: 1.5 hours. Level: easy and wheelchair friendly.
