Network Rail’s month-long works at Westbury are due to complete today, and GWR plan to return to their normal timetable tomorrow (Friday 24 January). This work has been vital in ensuring the railway remains safe and reliable for use, and GWR say they are grateful for our customers’ patience during the past month.
There are two weekends of follow-up work on Saturday 1 & Sunday 2 February, as well as on Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 March when again the railway through Westbury will be closed. Full detail is on a dedicated webpage at www.gwr.com/wessex and online journey planners have been updated to show the impact of these additional works.
There are also improvement works taking place this weekend meaning the lines between South Wales and Bristol/Gloucester will be closed on both Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January. Replacement buses will be running instead of trains between Bristol Parkway and Newport/Cardiff Central. Full details are available at www.gwr.com/bristol and again online journey planners have been updated reflecting this weekend’s closure.
