New link: Transport Action Network

We’ve added Transport Action Network to our useful links page.

Transport Action Network has been set up to help communities press for better and more sustainable transport. They support more investment in bus and rail services and active travel.

TAN is a national body with six members of staff. It works closely with local Transport Action Groups, but is independent from them.

  1. I gave up driving when moving to Poundbury after living in Dorset since the 1980s. I use local bus services
and walk whenever I can. However it’s very difficult to go to some favourite towns (Sherborne, Shaftesbury) without spending a lot of time and money getting there. I do use trains as much as possible but how lovely it would be to extend the line out into West Dorset and beyond to Devon and Cornwall. Getting onto the London Exeter line takes a lot of effort. More buses too with direct routes, I love bus journeys – a time to relax.
