Anniversary of First Loders Neighbour Bike Ride

Anniversary of First Loders Neighbour Bike Ride

29 riders joined Loders Transport Group’s first anniversary ride last month including a couple of riders from DTAG.

There was a fantastic turnout of neighbours of all ages from across the parish The youngest was only 3 years old and completed the full round trip from Loders to Bridport of just over five miles on their balance bike – an amazing achievement !

At Happy Island Way, we were warmly welcomed by John Collingwood, Bridport’s Town Crier and, until recently, chair of the Western Area Transport Action Group (WATAG).

From here the cyclists continued into Bridport to enjoy the market and a cup of tea (and a slice of naughty chocolate cake) on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning.

Loders neighbour bike rides take place every month and are fun events for everyone with an outdoors spirit and an interest in active travel to take part. Please contact Loders Transport Group (LTG) at loderstransportgroup@gmail.com if you would like to join in.

LTG are also trying to highlight the lack of a safe walking and cycling route from Loders to Bradpole and are campaigning for a route following a 1km section of the former railway line to make this possible.

DTAG are supporting them where we can and we wish them the very best for this excellent community-led project.
