Piddle path progresses

After a long campaign, the Piddle Path Action Team is delighted to announce that work has started on repairing the Piddle Path – a safe, off-road community route from Piddlethenthide via White Lackington to Piddlehinton.

Dorset Council started repairs along the Piddle Path in Summer 2024. They dug out the run off from four areas of the bridleway, and replaced the track with a sub-base of 150mm stone for drainage. A layer of 20mm stone-to-dust was added to create a firm surface suitable for people of all ages and abilities to use whether on foot, bike or horse.

Not all the requested areas have been repaired or the drainage fully addressed but significant progress has been made and the Action Team continue to petition Dorset Council to complete the works as soon as possible.

DTAG Secretary Giles Watts commented “The Piddle Path project has been supported by DTAG for the last three years, and we are all delighted by this news.”
